Film director, actor, and the Founder of Censtudios

Irmo Stijnberg (1988) is a Dutch film director, actor and founder of Censtudios. As the first stuttering film director in the Netherlands, his work focuses on voice, identity, and perspective and stands out for its mix of journalism, fiction and machinima.

His career began with creating video game trailers through machinima. That work later expanded into television broadcasting, where he built over five years of experience, alongside client projects. Since 2023 his focus has shifted fully toward directing and acting.

Irmo's work has been featured in publications such as Nieuwe Revu and Beckett Massive Online Gamer and on major gaming platforms including ArenaNet and Riot Games.

As part of the film makers community QISSA, a talent development programme that supports emerging voices with mentoring, guidance and a strong creative network, Irmo continues to develop his craft and expand his storytelling practice.

Alongside this, he is connected to Wild Lam, a Dutch initiative that supports actors with disabilities and makers who embrace the creative power of difference. Within this network he trains and collaborates with peers who are actively reshaping how disability is represented in film and media.

He speaks about stuttering, disability representation in film, communication, and what it means to claim space in a world built around fluent speech. His talks are honest, sharp, and focused on impact, awareness, and real experience.
